The Palau Robert proposes a sound and documental immersion in the feminine musical universe of the Catalan Countries to the exhibition “OF ONES: (R)evolució of the women in the music”, played the lead in by more than 1,000 feminine artists along the last century through compositions, songs and video clips.

The evident sample an evolution for the quantitative as well as qualitative growth of voices of women through the propagation of musical styles in the last 100 years. In this period new positionings have appeared for the creators and the interpreters after a long time in which so many feminine voices have been silenced. The sample is a recognition towards the empowerment of the women in all the social, political and cultural spaces. And his vibrating points out its contributions as the vertiginous spiral and he bursts into melodies and songs.
The challenge of the exhibition is to offer a compromised journey, sonorous and graphic, for ten styles where the main ones echoe voices of Catalonia, the País Valencià and the Balearic Islands in a vital journey that originates from the songs of cradle, is educated in the classical one and drinks of the music of root, penetrates for the song and the jazz, bursts with the pop, the rock and the punk and leads to the urban musics of our streets full of energy.
As the referential poem deals with Maria-Mercè Marçal, the title “OF ONES: (R)evolució of the women to the music” remits to the sound revolt of the feminine panorama, which has not been gestated in a single day, but fruit of an evolution of centuries. The record production in Catalan led by women has multiplied by 10 in the last 50 years.
